Well in the Desert to Host Wishing Well Benefit Concert Supporting Palm Springs’ Homeless

Well in the Desert, a longtime Palm Springs nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger and homelessness, is hosting a major fundraiser this winter to support its vital community services.

The Wishing Well Benefit Concert will take place Monday, January 12, at Mission Hills Country Club. The event marks a significant milestone for the organization, which has been serving the Palm Springs community for 25 years without interruption — even during the pandemic.

Eric Frankson, a board member of Well in the Desert, says the organization provides between 100 and 200 warm meals a day, five days a week, along with food boxes on Saturdays. Meals are served at several downtown Palm Springs churches and at Oscar’s on Wednesdays. In addition to food, the nonprofit also provides clothing, bedding, sleeping bags, medical support, and bicycles to help individuals get to work, medical appointments, and parole meetings.

This year’s fundraiser introduces a more intimate format while still delivering top-tier entertainment. Guests will enjoy performances by celebrity impersonators including Frank DiSalvo as Frank Sinatra, Lisa Lynn Morgan as Patsy Cline, and Christy King as Doris Day. The evening will be hosted by Bella Duvall.

The event includes a three-course dinner with tickets priced at $150 per person, or $1,500 for a table of ten. For the first time, attendees can also purchase a $50 ticket that includes the champagne reception, show, auctions, and raffles, without the sit-down dinner.

All proceeds from the event go directly to Well in the Desert. Frankson says the fundraiser is especially important this year, as the organization had to cancel other events due to financial challenges.

Tickets and donations are available at www.wellinthedesert.com. Those who cannot attend but wish to support the mission can also donate directly through the website.
