Indio Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

Indio police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred late last night, shortly before 9 p.m.

Authorities say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Van Buren Street, south of Dr. Carreon Boulevard.

Paramedics responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later located the suspected vehicle nearby; however, it was unoccupied when officers arrived.

At this time, no suspect information has been released, and the identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Indio Police Department.
