Strong Earthquake in Mexico!

A 6.5 earthquake occurred at 5:58a local time near San Marcos -- or about 55-miles Northeast of Acapulco, in West Central Mexico -- at a depth of 21.7 miles.

There were reports of various landslides around the Acapulco area.

The startling shaker briefly interrupted President Claudia Sheinbaum’s first press briefing of the new year when the seismic alarms sounded.
