FAA Issue Resolved at Palm Springs Airport, But Some Delays Linger

Palm Springs International Airport says it's back to normal operations after an FAA air traffic control issue forced a ground stop across Southern California airspace over the weekend.

The ground stop went into effect Saturday around noon and was lifted by 4 p.m. the same day. The issue wasn't limited to PSP—it affected airspace throughout the region. As of Monday morning, the airport confirmed the problem has been fully resolved.

Still, the ripple effects aren't over yet. Airport officials initially warned that flight schedules could be impacted through Tuesday, and that's playing out: on Monday morning, half of the departures listed on PSP's website were either delayed or cancelled.

Airlines are still working through the backlog. If you're flying out of Palm Springs in the coming days, check your flight status directly with your airline and build in extra time.
