Palm Springs Film Festival Hosts Free International Director Panels Today
The 37th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival continues Wednesday with a pair of free panels featuring directors whose films are in the running for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
This year's Oscar race drew submissions from 92 countries, and several shortlisted filmmakers will be at the Annenberg Theater—located inside the Palm Springs Art Museum—to discuss their work. The Hollywood Reporter is hosting both sessions.
The first panel kicks off at 1:45 p.m. with directors including Joachim Trier ("Sentimental Value"), Annemarie Jacir ("Palestine 36"), and Jafar Panahi stand-in Shih-Ching Tsou ("Left-Handed Girl"), among others. The second panel follows at 3:30 p.m.
and features Kaouther Ben Hania ("The Voice of Hind Rajab"), Cherien Dabis ("All That's Left of You"), and Sang-il Lee ("Kokuhô").
Both events are free, but tickets are required. Reservations can be made through the festival's website.
