Sagewood Condominiums Recommended for Historic District Status in Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Historic Site Preservation Board has unanimously voted to recommend historic district status for the Sagewood Condominiums, a well-known mid-century modern complex in the city.

The 107-unit property was designed by renowned architect Donald Wexler and completed in 1972. Board members highlighted the complex’s architectural importance, noting that it reflects a significant period in Palm Springs’ development and design history.

Support for the designation was strong among residents, with about 70 percent of homeowners backing the nomination.

The recommendation now moves to the Palm Springs City Council, which will make the final decision on whether Sagewood Condominiums will officially receive historic district status.
