Woman Killed by ICE Agent During Minneapolis Enforcement Operation

A woman was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis today during what the Department of Homeland Security is calling its largest operation ever. DHS officials confirmed the shooting in a press release, describing it as "vehicle ramming related" and stating that the fatal shots were fired as a defensive measure.

The agency did not say whether the woman was a target for arrest. A bullet hole was visible in the windshield of a wrecked car at the scene.

The shooting occurred after DHS deployed more than 2,000 ICE agents to the Twin Cities area. Hundreds of agents and local police officers responded to the scene, along with neighbors from the surrounding community.

Governor Tim Walz has called for calm as the investigation continues. The victim's identity has not been released.
