Hollywood Minute: SAG Award Nominations, New Netflix Series, and Alan Cumming Honored
It’s a busy moment in Hollywood, with major award nominations, new streaming releases, and a longtime actor receiving one of the industry’s highest honors.
The film One Battle After Another is leading the way at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards, earning a record-breaking seven nominations. The nods include five individual acting nominations, along with recognition for Outstanding Cast and Outstanding Stunt Ensemble. Close behind is Sinners, which picked up five nominations. The SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix on March 1.
Meanwhile, a new limited series is now available for viewers looking for suspense. His and Hers stars Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal as estranged spouses — one a reporter, the other a detective — who find themselves investigating a murder in the woman’s hometown while growing increasingly suspicious of each other. The series premieres today on Netflix.
In other entertainment news, acclaimed Scottish actor Alan Cumming is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cumming has earned decades of praise for his work across stage, television, and film. He is a Tony Award winner for Cabaret and is widely known for roles in The Good Wife, X-Men, Schmigadoon, and Second Best.
From awards buzz to fresh streaming options and well-earned recognition, it’s a packed night in Hollywood.
