Olympic Torch Reaches Ferrara Amid Snowfall as Italy Relay Passes Halfway Mark

The Olympic torch made its way through falling snow Wednesday as it arrived in Ferrara, in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region.

The day's route showcased some of the country's most treasured landmarks, passing Byzantine mosaics and early Christian World Heritage sites before concluding at the Po Delta.

The flame left Rome a month ago and has since traveled to Sardinia, Sicily, Naples, and Bari. It's now past the halfway point of a 7,450-mile journey that will end at Milan's San Siro Stadium on February 6, when the Winter Olympics officially begin.

Milan and the Alpine resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo will serve as the two main host cities for the 2026 Games, with events spread across multiple venues throughout northern Italy.
