Information on Planned “ICE Out For Good” Weekend of Action and Demonstrations in Palm Springs on Jan. 11

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, 37-year-old American citizen Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during a federal immigration enforcement action. Good’s death has drawn national attention, with differing accounts of the circumstances from federal officials and local leaders, and has led to protests in multiple cities.

In response, advocacy organizations including Indivisible, MoveOn, the American Civil Liberties Union, Voto Latino, United We Dream, 50501, and the Disappeared in America Campaign of the Not Above the Law coalition have called for a coordinated “ICE Out For Good” Weekend of Action on Sunday, Jan. 11. The actions are intended to bring attention to public concerns about immigration enforcement and to honor the life of Good. Reports indicate that hundreds of demonstrations are planned across the United States under this banner.

Protests have already taken place in California as part of broader demonstrations this weekend, including public gatherings and vigils in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and other communities. Demonstrations in Southern California are expected in multiple cities, with planned activities in areas throughout Los Angeles County and the Coachella Valley.

Local organizers and community groups have shared information on planned events for Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 across the state, including a demonstration scheduled in Palm Springs on Sunday, Jan. 11, as part of the “ICE Out For Good” weekend of action. Participants in some locations have been advised to bring water, signs, and masks.

The demonstrations follow the Minneapolis incident and related shootings by federal agents in other cities, which have led to a range of public reactions and ongoing discussions about immigration policy and enforcement practices.
