Dish Detective Returns: Guess the Coachella Valley Restaurant and Win a Gift Card

NBC Palm Springs is bringing back a fan-favorite foodie challenge with the return of Dish Detective, a fun and interactive contest running on Instagram in partnership with local food reviewers Dining with the Davids.

The concept is simple: viewers are shown a video featuring standout dishes from a mystery restaurant somewhere in the Coachella Valley. Based on the food alone, participants are asked to guess which restaurant it is.

In the latest Dish Detective video, viewers get a close-up look at three mouthwatering dishes. The first is a trio of gorditas, served hot and fresh, filled with pork simmered in salsa verde, sautéed nopal, and grilled red chicharrón. Another featured dish is a fully loaded torta with lomo, jamón, and queso fondido, layered with jalapeño, lettuce, onion, tomato, and crema, then finished with avocado and a signature sauce. The final dish is a bold seafood mix of shrimp, octopus, tuna, and scallops, tossed with onion and cucumber and finished with house sauce and a hint of chiltepin spice.

To enter, viewers must head to the NBC Palm Springs Instagram page, watch the Dish Detective video, and tag the restaurant they believe is featured in the comments. Correct guesses will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to that restaurant.

Entries are accepted until noon on Thursday. The correct answer and the gift card winner will be revealed during the Friday morning newscast on NBC Palm Springs.

To qualify, participants must follow both Dining with the Davids and NBC Palm Springs on Instagram.
