Ruth Hardy Park Unveils $1.5 Million Inclusive Renovations, Including New Playground

Palm Springs will officially open the renovated playground at Ruth Hardy Park on Tuesday, marking the completion of a $1.5 million project funded through parks capital improvement programs and Measure J.

The centerpiece of the renovation is new equipment designed for children of all abilities. The playground now features ADA-accessible spinners and gliders that accommodate wheelchairs while allowing kids and caregivers to play together. Climbing structures and imaginative play areas round out the updates.

Mayor Naomi Soto, Councilmember Ron deHarte, City Manager Scott Stiles, and Parks and Recreation Director Nicholas Gonzalez are scheduled to speak at the ribbon-cutting.

The ceremony takes place at 3:30 p.m. at Ruth Hardy Park on Tuesday.
