Riverside County Board of Supervisors Selects New Chair, Vice Chair

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors welcomed new leadership during its meeting today, voting unanimously to appoint Supervisor Karen Spiegel as the board’s new chair. Spiegel has previously served as chair and returns to the role once again.

Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez was selected as vice chair, marking his first time serving in a leadership position on the board.

In addition to leadership changes, the board also approved potential salary adjustments for several top administrators within the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The board voted 5-0 to adjust pay ranges for executive positions, including assistant sheriffs and chief deputies.

County officials say the changes are intended to keep compensation competitive and retain experienced leadership within the department.
