Wall Street Ends Monday Higher as Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq All Gain

U.S. stocks closed higher Monday as investors pushed all three major indexes into positive territory by the end of the trading day.

At the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the session at 49,590.20, gaining 86.13 points, or 0.17 percent. The S&P 500 also edged higher, closing at 6,977.27 after adding 10.99 points, a gain of 0.16 percent.

The Nasdaq Composite posted the strongest point gain of the day, rising 62.56 points to close at 23,733.90, up 0.26 percent.

Monday’s trading reflected continued investor confidence as markets moved through the second full week of the new year. While gains were modest, all three indexes remained near record levels, signaling ongoing momentum in the broader market.
