Conservation Event Kicks Off Friday at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

A major conservation-focused event is set to begin this Friday at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, bringing together experts, filmmakers, and environmental advocates for a weekend centered on protecting the planet’s most threatened ecosystems.

The event will feature keynote speakers, expert-led panels, presentations, and guided hikes throughout the zoo and gardens. Organizers say the goal is to educate and inspire the community while highlighting ongoing global and local conservation efforts.

On Saturday, attendees will hear from Paul Rosolie, a renowned conservationist, author, and filmmaker best known for his work protecting the Amazon rainforest and other vulnerable ecosystems. Rosolie’s work, including projects such as Dark Green, focuses on conservation storytelling and firsthand experiences in some of the world’s most remote regions.

Programming will continue through Sunday, offering visitors multiple opportunities to engage with conservation professionals and learn more about wildlife protection, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

The event runs through the weekend, and tickets as well as additional details are available at livingdesert.org.
