Police Search for Theft Victims After Stolen Equipment Recovered Across Coachella Valley
Police in the Coachella Valley are working to identify victims after recovering a large amount of suspected stolen landscaping and construction equipment during an investigation that moved quickly across multiple cities.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department and Coachella Police Department, detectives recovered equipment believed to be worth thousands of dollars from a home in Moreno Valley following a reported theft. Investigators say more than a dozen pieces of valuable equipment were located as part of the case.
Police identified 35-year-old Luis Antonio Sanchez Valadrez as the suspect after tracking his movements through several Coachella Valley cities. Authorities say Valadrez was arrested within hours of the initial theft report.
After his arrest, investigators say Valadrez led them to additional stolen property that had been hidden at a residence in Desert Hot Springs. The recovered items included landscaping and construction tools believed to belong to multiple victims.
Valadrez is now facing grand theft charges and is scheduled to return to court on January 20.
Police are urging anyone who may be missing landscaping or construction equipment to contact local law enforcement to determine whether their property was among the items recovered.
