Rhea Seehorn Earns Awards Buzz for Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Series “Pluribus”
The new sci-fi series Pluribus is now streaming on Apple TV+ and is already generating major awards buzz — thanks in large part to the performance of its lead actress, Rhea Seehorn.
Manny the Movie Guy recently sat down with Seehorn to talk about her growing list of accolades, including a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. The recognition follows a standout awards season for the actress, which included a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series and a Golden Globe win.
During the interview, Seehorn reflected on what the honors mean to her, especially the SAG nomination.
She described the recognition as overwhelming and said being nominated by fellow actors makes it particularly meaningful. Seehorn noted that SAG Awards are unique because they come from peers who understand the craft and the challenges that come with bringing complex characters to life.
In Pluribus, Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, a romance novelist who is also described as the “most miserable person on Earth” — a character that is vulnerable, sharp-witted, fiercely independent, and emotionally complex. Seehorn explained that while Carol believes she doesn’t need people beyond her wife, the series pushes her to confront what true isolation really means.
She also shared that one of the show’s strengths is how it sparks philosophical conversations with viewers, raising questions about individuality, happiness, success, and what it really means to feel fulfilled.
Pluribus is now streaming on Apple TV+, with awards momentum continuing to build as the Screen Actors Guild Awards approach.
