911 Calls and Incident Report Detail Fatal ICE Shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis
Newly released 911 transcripts and a Minneapolis Fire Department incident report are shedding light on the moments surrounding the fatal shooting of Renee Good by a federal immigration officer earlier this month.
According to the incident report, Good was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of her SUV with no pulse and multiple apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, including chest compressions, before transporting her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Multiple 911 callers described witnessing an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fire shots through Good’s windshield. One caller reported seeing blood on Good after the shooting and said she attempted to drive away before crashing into a parked vehicle. Another caller told dispatchers that ICE agents shot her after she refused to open her car door.
The fire department report notes Good had two apparent gunshot wounds to her right chest, one to her left forearm, and a possible gunshot wound to the left side of her head. Responders later moved her from the original location to provide better ambulance access and to distance her from what officials described as an escalating scene involving law enforcement and bystanders.
Video from the scene shows a bystander identifying himself as a physician asking to check Good’s pulse, but officers ordered him to step back. Emergency crews ultimately transported Good by ambulance, but she did not survive.
Federal officials, including President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, have said Good attempted to use her vehicle to harm ICE agents. Noem has described the incident as an act of domestic terrorism. The shooting has prompted days of protests in Minneapolis and across the country, with demonstrators calling for accountability and greater transparency.
The incident remains under investigation, and officials say additional information may be released as the case develops.
