Living Desert’s International Desert Conservation Summit Brings Conservation Leaders Together

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens’ 5th Annual International Desert Conservation Summit is now underway, having kicked off yesterday and continuing through tomorrow.

The multi-day event brings together global conservation leaders, researchers, and advocates to spotlight efforts focused on protecting desert wildlife, expanding environmental education, and restoring threatened ecosystems. This year’s summit features keynote speaker Paul Rosolie, who is sharing firsthand stories from his work in some of the world’s most endangered environments.

In addition to keynote presentations, the summit includes expert-led panel discussions, guided hikes, and collaborative workshops designed to strengthen conservation partnerships. A major highlight of the event is the presentation of more than $180,000 in grants, awarded to conservation heroes advancing wildlife protection efforts across the globe.

According to officials, the summit represents a celebration of hope, bringing together wildlife experts from seven countries across three continents, all united by a shared mission to protect desert ecosystems for future generations.
