Nighttime Closures Set for South Palm Canyon Bridge Work in Palm Springs

A traffic alert for Palm Springs commuters as construction on the South Palm Canyon Bridge moves to a nighttime work schedule this week.

Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, no construction activity is scheduled for Monday night. However, starting Tuesday through Thursday, South Palm Canyon Drive will be fully closed overnight between East Sunnydunes Road and Mesquite Avenue.

The closures will be in effect each night from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. During that time, traffic will be detoured to Bilardo Road.

Drivers who regularly use South Palm Canyon Drive or Bilardo Road for their commute are advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes, as delays are expected during the overnight hours.

City officials encourage motorists to use caution in the area and allow extra travel time while crews complete the bridge work.
