South Palm Canyon Drive Closing Overnight This Week for Bridge Work

Construction on the South Palm Canyon Bridge is shifting to nighttime hours this week, bringing full road closures to part of South Palm Canyon Drive for three nights.

The bridge project has been underway for months as crews work on gas line installation and related infrastructure. This week's overnight work means South Palm Canyon Drive will be completely closed in both directions between East Sunny Dunes Road and Mesquite Avenue from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Drivers will be detoured to Belardo Road during the closures. The traffic signal at Sunny Dunes Road will be set to flash mode overnight. If you regularly use either South Palm Canyon or Belardo during evening hours, build in extra time or consider alternative routes.

Nearby residents can expect typical construction noise and lighting, though crews plan to finish louder work before 9 p.m. Businesses in the area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
