Camper Trailer Overturns on I-10, Blocking Westbound Lane for Hours

A vehicle towing a camping trailer overturned on the westbound Interstate 10 Monday evening, blocking traffic for several hours west of Washington Street in Palm Desert.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. on January 19. The trailer flipped and blocked the left lane, leaving two of three lanes open while officers investigated and crews worked to recover the vehicle. 

The single vehicle crash caused CHP to issue a SIG ALERT at around 6:30 p.m. that evening. It was lifted a few hours later at approximately 11 p.m.

Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
