Palm Springs Police Identify Vehicle in Fatal Hit-and-Run, Victim Named

Palm Springs Police have identified the vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Saturday and have confirmed the identity of the victim.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the suspect vehicle is a black Chevrolet Silverado. Investigators served a search warrant earlier today in Thousand Palms, where the vehicle was located and seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities also confirmed that the victim has been identified as 56-year-old Ricardo Moreno. Police say Moreno was found lying in the roadway near the intersection of East Vistachino Drive and Avenida Caballeros. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, no arrests have been made. Investigators continue working to determine who was driving the vehicle and the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the hit-and-run to contact the Palm Springs Police Department. The department says tips from the public could be critical as the investigation moves forward.
