NBC Palm Springs Honors Local Nonprofit COFEM With Community Impact Award
NBC Palm Springs teamed up with the Rap Foundation and La Botica Health Mart Pharmacy to recognize a local nonprofit making a meaningful difference in the Coachella Valley.
NBC Palm Springs Digital Reporter Thalia Hayden delivered the surprise at the Rap Foundation, honoring COFEM for its continued work supporting community members and local youth. Representatives Leticia Gomez and Emily Felix were present as the organization received a financial award to help further its mission.
The check presentation was made by Chandra Patel of La Botica Health Mart Pharmacy, who praised COFEM for its commitment to health, wellness, and education throughout the Valley. Patel noted that the award is intended to support both the organization’s ongoing programs and the individuals it serves.
During the presentation, COFEM leaders shared that the funds will help expand services for youth, encouraging continued education and long-term community involvement. Part of the award will directly support Emily Felix, helping her pursue higher education at a university in California.
The recognition was an emotional moment for the recipients, who expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized how the honor strengthens their mission to empower young people and families across the Coachella Valley.
NBC Palm Springs continues to spotlight local organizations making a positive impact through partnerships that celebrate service, dedication, and community leadership.
