18-Year-Old Blades Brown Tied for Lead at American Express After Historic Second Round

The gallery was buzzing at the American Express Golf Tournament Friday afternoon.

Scottie Scheffler secured his place at the top of the leaderboard after shooting -8 in round two, to put him at -17 under total. And it was during his post-round press conference that news began to swirl about 18-year-old Blades Brown shooting a round on-pace to potentially enter rarified air. As Blades made his way to his 16th hole of the day, the crowd following him thickened - with several people realizing the gravity of what they were witnessing.

Blades would par 16, 17, and ultimately miss the birdie putt at 18 and tap in for par - earning him a shared spot at the top of the leaderboard with Scheffler.

Blades will tee off Saturday morning at 8:52am on the Pete Dye Stadium Course, while Scottie is scheduled for a 10:31am tee time, also on the the Stadium Course.
