The Stage is Set for the Final Round of the American Express
History could be made Sunday at The American Express, where teenage standout Blades Brown (-21) enters the final round tied with world number one Scottie Scheffler (-21). A win would make Brown the second-youngest champion in PGA Tour history and the youngest winner in nearly a century. The feat would come after an exhausting stretch of golf, as Brown is playing his eighth consecutive day of tournament competition after competing earlier in the week on the Korn Ferry Tour in the Bahamas.
Brown now faces a vastly different challenge, going head-to-head with the top-ranked player in the world. Scheffler is still seeking his first victory at The American Express, a win that would further bolster his already elite résumé. Also in the hunt is Palm Springs native Eric Cole (-20), giving local fans a familiar name to root for. And leading the pack into Sunday is Si Woo Kim, who sits alone at the top of the leaderboard at -22.
NBC Palm Springs will have complete coverage of the final round and post-round reaction from the winner.
