Palm Desert Sheriff Station DUI Checkpoint in Rancho Mirage Leads to Citations and Arrests
The Palm Desert Sheriff Station conducted a DUI checkpoint in Rancho Mirage that began Friday evening and ended early Saturday morning.
Riverside County Sheriff’s officials released data from the checkpoint Saturday, detailing enforcement activity during the operation.
Deputies contacted multiple vehicles throughout the checkpoint. Some drivers were directed to secondary screenings. Several motorists were cited for driving without a license, while eight were cited for miscellaneous traffic violations. Two people were arrested for driving under the influence.
Sheriff’s officials say DUI checkpoints are part of ongoing efforts to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety across the Coachella Valley.
