Eisenhower’s Lucy Kersey Cancer Center Unveils “The Colors of Cancer” Art Installation Honoring Patients and Caregivers
Eisenhower’s Lucy Kersey Cancer Center has unveiled a new permanent art installation designed to honor cancer patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals.
The contemporary piece, titled The Colors of Cancer, was created by artist Ryan Campbell and shares a powerful message of unity, compassion, and hope. Each color in the installation represents a different cancer awareness ribbon, symbolizing strength, love, and support. Together, the colors reflect the resilience of the cancer community.
Campbell says the artwork is meant to remind visitors they are not alone while also recognizing the dedication of caregivers and medical staff who support patients every day.
Center staff say the installation is already making an impact. Since its arrival, patients have shared positive feedback, noting how the artwork offers a moment of peace and a welcome distraction during difficult visits.
“So we’re really privileged to have this art installation by Ryan Campbell,” one staff member shared. “It gives our patients a moment of peace and a distraction from why they’re here. It’s just beautiful, and patients have already commented on how meaningful it is as they walk out the door.”
The installation was made possible through the generosity of donor Deborah Page.
Colors of Cancer is now permanently on display at Eisenhower’s Lucy Kersey Cancer Center, offering comfort and inspiration to everyone who passes through its doors.
