IID Offers Free Energy-Saving Upgrades to Help Customers Lower Utility Costs
Imperial Irrigation District customers have an opportunity to lower their energy bills and improve home comfort through the District’s All-Weather Energy Savings Program. The program offers a minimum of $1,500 in recommended energy-saving services and equipment for eligible residential customers.
IID officials say the program focuses on upgrades that help reduce heating and cooling costs while making homes more energy efficient year-round. Customers currently enrolled in the District’s Income-Qualified Ready Program may qualify for up to $2,000 in free energy-saving services and equipment.
Additional benefits are available for mobile or modular home customers, who can receive up to $3,500 in services, with no income qualifications required. IID says this expanded benefit is designed to address the unique energy needs of these types of homes.
The All-Weather Energy Savings Program is open to all IID residential customers on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted. Households are eligible to participate once every five years.
IID has partnered with Synergy Companies to provide the assessments and energy-saving improvements. Customers interested in participating can apply online, with the application website displayed on screen. District officials encourage customers to apply early due to limited funding availability.
