Rancho Mirage Writers Festival Kicks Off at Library, Brings Top Storytellers to Coachella Valley
The Rancho Mirage Writers Festival is now in full swing, bringing some of the most recognizable voices in American storytelling and journalism to the Coachella Valley.
The festival officially kicked off Tuesday night at the Rancho Mirage Library and will continue through January 30. Each year, the event draws nationally known authors, historians, and journalists for panel discussions, book talks, and community conversations.
This year’s headliners include documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, and bestselling crime novelist Michael Connelly.
Wednesday’s programming features a special panel with former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who served under the Biden administration. Festival organizers say the lineup reflects a wide range of perspectives, covering history, politics, journalism, and fiction.
The multi-day event has become a staple in the Coachella Valley, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to engage directly with influential writers and thought leaders in an intimate setting.
Organizers say the festival is designed to celebrate storytelling while fostering meaningful dialogue between authors and audiences.
The Rancho Mirage Writers Festival continues through January 30, with additional sessions scheduled throughout the week.
