South Palm Canyon Drive Bridge Project Update: Night Work Wraps Up Early in Palm Springs

Palm Springs officials are sharing a positive update on the South Palm Canyon Drive bridge project, announcing that overnight construction wrapped up earlier than expected.

City leaders say crews have now completed the installation of gas lines throughout the project area. That work was originally scheduled to run through Wednesday night into Thursday morning, but crews finished ahead of schedule and will return to regular daytime construction hours.

While the early completion brings some relief, the project is still ongoing. City officials continue to recommend that commuters use South Ballardo Road as a detour while work continues on the bridge.

The South Palm Canyon Drive bridge project is aimed at improving infrastructure and safety in one of Palm Springs’ busy corridors. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted traffic signs as crews move into the next phase of construction.
