CHP Investigates Fatal Hit-and-Run in Morongo Valley

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early this morning in Morongo Valley, leaving a male pedestrian dead.

According to CHP, the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. along the 29 Palms Highway.

Authorities have not made any arrests at this time and are continuing efforts to identify the driver involved. CHP is reviewing evidence and asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to come forward.

Footage taken near the scene shows emergency crews responding and portions of the highway impacted by the investigation. As officers work to determine what led up to the collision, traffic in the area is being redirected.

Officials say traffic delays are expected to continue while the investigation remains ongoing.
