Trump orders busier public schedule as White House works to counter questions about his stamina

President Donald Trump has instructed his team to expand his publicly released daily schedule, aiming to counter growing questions about his stamina and workload.

According to CNN, vague entries such as policy meetings, signing sessions, and executive sit-downs — many held behind closed doors — began appearing more frequently on Trump’s public calendar late last year. Sources say the change was driven directly by Trump, who was frustrated by media analyses suggesting his days appeared lighter than during his first term.

Those perceptions, aides say, only added fuel to ongoing speculation about his health and energy. In response, Trump asked staff to begin listing private meetings and calls that traditionally would not appear on the public schedule, in an effort to show what aides describe as “jam-packed” days.

The move followed a November report that compared Trump’s current public appearances with his first year in office, finding fewer official events, later start times, and reduced domestic travel. Trump reportedly wanted it made clear that he continues working throughout the day, even when cameras are not present.

To support that claim, the White House provided CNN with a snapshot of Trump’s private calendar over a five-day period in early January, showing 61 phone calls and 67 meetings, many stretching from morning into the evening. The calls included foreign leaders, business executives, lawmakers, media figures and family members, though specific names were removed.

This is not the first time Trump has sought to shape perceptions of his work ethic. Near the end of his first term, he personally dictated language emphasizing that he worked “from early in the morning until late in the evening.”

The president has also grown increasingly frustrated with media coverage of his administration, according to sources close to him. He has complained that his accomplishments are not receiving enough positive attention and has blamed messaging problems — rather than policy — for declining public support on issues such as immigration enforcement and affordability.

Trump has taken a more hands-on approach to promoting his agenda, holding impromptu briefings and personally highlighting arrests tied to immigration crackdowns. He has also expressed concern that strong economic indicators are not translating into improved public sentiment.

During a recent news conference, Trump acknowledged the struggle to get his message across, saying, “I think we’re doing a much better job than we’re able to promote.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the president’s record, saying Trump has worked relentlessly during his first year back in office and criticizing what she called unfair media coverage.
