Signs of Fascism Rally Held in Indio Saturday
Democrats in Sun City Shadow Hills gathered Saturday morning for a protest aimed at raising awareness about what organizers call signs of fascism in the United States.
The demonstration began around 10 a.m. in the Food 4 Less parking lot at the corner of Monroe Street and Highway 111 in Indio. Protesters held signs highlighting examples they believe signal growing authoritarianism and said the event was meant to serve as a reminder to the broader public.
“I think people were finally motivated to get out and do something,” said event organizer Alice Moran. “We’re all seeing those signs of fascism, and we want to raise awareness to the general public because our country is falling apart. The only way we’re going to fix it is through the people—through pressure.”
Participants remained at the intersection until approximately noon, holding signs and engaging with passing motorists as part of the peaceful demonstration.
