A Big Week for NBC: Olympics and the Super Bowl

The Firebirds picked up a dominant win over rival Ontario Rain on Sunday, cruising to a 5–1 victory. The win keeps the Firebirds in fifth place in the Pacific Division as they continue a four-game road trip with stops in San Jose and Henderson, Nevada, before returning home Sunday the 13th to face the Tucson Roadrunners.

Meanwhile, with the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics just days away, NBCUniversal is ramping up its global broadcast operation. While reporters, commentators, and former Olympic medalists will be front and center at venues across Milan and Cortina, much of the editing, graphics, and production will be handled remotely in the U.S., creating a seamless operation designed to bring fans at home a front-row seat to Olympic history.

Closer to home, NBC Palm Springs is also gearing up for major coverage, as Tim O’Brien and Caitlyn Kelley head north to Santa Clara for special Super Bowl coverage leading up to kickoff. Viewers can expect behind-the-scenes access, interviews with players, fans, and staff, plus postgame coverage from Levi’s Stadium, along with exclusive digital content on the NBC Palm Springs website and Instagram.
