Attorneys representing victims of Jeffrey Epstein are asking federal judges to force the Justice Department to take down millions of documents it recently posted online, citing what they called an "unfolding emergency" after the agency failed to redact victims' names and personal information.

The attorneys say the mistakes have exposed nearly 100 survivors to harassment, threats, and renewed trauma. Among the examples cited: the name of at least one underage victim appearing more than a dozen times in a single document, an email listing 32 underage victims with only one name redacted, and FBI documents with full names left visible.

In a response to the judges Monday, the DOJ said it has removed all documents flagged by the victims' attorneys.

Separately, The New York Times reports the Justice Department also published dozens of unredacted nude photos showing bodies and faces of people who appeared young, though it remains unclear whether they were minors. Officials say they have since largely removed or redacted the images flagged by the Times.

A DOJ spokesperson said the department is working around the clock to address victim concerns and make additional redactions. The images will be reposted once proper redactions are complete, according to the spokesperson.
