Festival Theaters Honors Late Actor Udo Kier with Special Film Series
Festival Theaters in Palm Springs is honoring late actor and longtime resident Udo Kier with a special film series beginning Thursday.
The series, titled “Remembering Udo Kier: Palm Springs Valentine,” will run through March 5 at the theater located on East Amado Canyon Way. Organizers say the tribute celebrates Kier’s lasting influence on cult horror, queer cinema, and art house films.
Kier passed away in November at 81 years old. Over his career, he appeared in more than 200 films, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, My Own Private Idaho, and Swan Song.
The film series will open with a screening of Blood of Dracula and continue throughout the month with additional selections from Kier’s extensive body of work. Screening times will vary.
Organizers say the event offers fans and film lovers an opportunity to revisit Kier’s iconic performances and reflect on his artistic legacy.
Tickets and scheduling information are available through Festival Theaters.
