McCallum Theatre Honors Donor Support at Artist Salon Leadership Luncheon Ahead of February Orchestra Performances

This week, McCallum Theatre hosted its annual Artist Salon Leadership Luncheon, recognizing the vital role donors play in supporting art, music, and cultural experiences across the Coachella Valley.

Attendees heard from conductor Richard Kaufman, a Grammy Award winner whose career spans film, television, and major concert halls around the world. Kaufman has also worked alongside prestigious ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Guests were given an inside look at the creative process behind McCallum Theatre productions, learning how performances come together from concept to curtain call.

Kaufman shared his appreciation for the venue, praising its acoustics and atmosphere, noting that hearing music performed at the McCallum is a special experience both for artists and audiences.

“I can’t imagine a better way to hear this music than at the McCallum Theatre,” Kaufman said, adding that every appearance there feels like a meaningful moment in his work.

Kaufman will return to conduct upcoming McCallum Theatre Orchestra performances on February 6 and 7, continuing the venue’s commitment to bringing world-class music to local audiences.

The luncheon also highlighted how donor support directly fuels these cultural offerings, helping ensure the arts remain a vibrant part of life in the Coachella Valley.
