Palm Springs Police Report Double-Digit Drops in Crime for 2025

Palm Springs saw broad declines in crime over the past year, with violent offenses, property crimes, and overall crime all falling by double digits compared to 2024, according to data released Monday by the Palm Springs Police Department.
Crimes against persons dropped 8.87%, while property crimes fell 11.83%. Overall crime decreased roughly 11% year over year, according to the department. At the same time, arrests climbed 27%, a jump officials attributed to proactive enforcement targeting drugs, DUIs, and other quality-of-life offenses. Arrests in that category alone rose 51.56%.
Among specific crime types, homicides saw the steepest decline at 57%, followed by sex offenses down 31%, arson down 30%, and robbery down 28%. Larceny and theft dropped 14%, motor vehicle theft fell 16%, burglary declined 3%, and assault was down 4%.
The department said officers identified crime trends early and set focused goals to address issues before they escalated. Officials also pointed to community tips, resident reporting, and what they described as strong partnerships between residents and police.
Specific raw numbers—such as total incidents or arrests in each category—were not included in the data released by officials.
