Brothers of Woman Killed by Federal Agents Testify on Capitol Hill
The two brothers of Renee Good, the woman shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis last month, testified before lawmakers on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning.
Luke and Brent Ganger spoke at a congressional forum on federal agents' use of force—the first time Good's family has spoken publicly in person since her death.
"The most important thing we can do today is to help this panel and our country understand who she is and what a beautiful American we have lost," Luke Ganger told the panel.
The brothers described Good as a mother, daughter, partner and friend, and said they came to Washington to advocate for policy changes—something they say has not happened since her death.
During the forum, Rep. Garcia referenced Good's final moments: "She said 'I'm not mad at you,' before she was shot dead."
A memorial for Good continues to grow in Minneapolis. It's unclear what legislative action, if any, may result from Tuesday's forum.
