Cathedral City Considers Andrew Firestine for City Manager Role
Cathedral City officials are considering appointing Andrew Firestine as the city’s next city manager.
The proposed appointment was announced today and will be reviewed at the City Council meeting scheduled for February 11.
If approved, Firestine would replace former City Manager Charlie McClendon, who retired last September. Anne Ambrose has been serving as interim city manager since that time.
Firestine holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and currently serves as the city's Director of Community and Economic Development.
City officials say if the appointment is approved, Firestine will officially assume the role on February 12.
