Tools for Tomorrow honored with Social Impact Award supporting arts education for Coachella Valley youth
A local nonprofit dedicated to arts education and a longtime volunteer were celebrated with a Social Impact Award during a surprise presentation at the Rapp Foundation.
Tools for Tomorrow, represented by Andrea Hecht, along with volunteer Suzanne Frumkin, received $1,000 in support from Chandra Patel of La Boutique Pharmacy. Of that total, $500 was awarded directly to Frumkin in recognition of her volunteer service.
The funding will help expand Tools for Tomorrow’s after-school programs, which provide children across the Coachella Valley with opportunities in art, music, creative writing, and theater.
“This is going to make a huge difference to the children of the Coachella Valley,” organizers shared. “It gives our kids an opportunity to develop their passions and express their emotions.”
Hecht explained the organization plans to use the donation for art supplies, books, and classroom materials for elementary students enrolled in their programs.
Tools for Tomorrow has been offering after-school arts education throughout the Valley for more than 27 years, helping young people build confidence, creativity, and emotional expression through hands-on learning.
Frumkin expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying the award reinforces the importance of making arts accessible to children and supporting their growth beyond the classroom.
The Social Impact Award highlights local organizations and volunteers who are making meaningful contributions to the community, honoring those who dedicate their time and energy to shaping brighter futures for Coachella Valley youth.
