Dr. George Charity Car Show Returns to Indian Wells Tennis Garden with Classic Cars and Cancer Care Support

One of the Coachella Valley’s most popular traditions is revving up once again.

The Dr. George Charity Car Show returns to Indian Wells Tennis Garden this Valentine’s Day weekend, promising more than 1,000 vehicles ranging from student-built project cars to rare exotics and pristine classics — all in support of local cancer care.

Organizers say the 23rd annual event will showcase an unmatched variety of automobiles, along with family activities and personal stories from car owners who have spent decades preserving their rides. Some vehicles on display have been owned for more than 50 years, including rare models like a 1972 Javelin AMX.

This year’s show also features special guest appearances by renowned automotive designer Chip Foose and legendary car creator Peter Brock, best known for designing the split-window Corvette and the Daytona Coupe for Carroll Shelby. Organizers say Foose’s appearance is expected to draw major attention from car enthusiasts across Southern California.

Beyond the cars, the mission remains at the heart of the event.

Proceeds benefit Desert Cancer Foundation, which helps local residents cover cancer-related expenses when treatment costs become overwhelming. Since its founding in 1994, the foundation has assisted more than 9,000 individuals and paid over $115 million in cancer-related bills, supporting everything from medical co-pays to transportation and essential care.

Event organizers say many involved with the show have personally faced cancer, making the partnership especially meaningful.

Admission is $20 at the gate, with children under 12 admitted free. Organizers encourage families to attend, calling it a fun-filled alternative to traditional Valentine’s Day plans — complete with classic cars, celebrity guests, and a cause that directly supports neighbors in need.

The Dr. George Charity Car Show takes place February 14 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
