Palm Springs Police Seek Possible Witness in Prescott Preserve Fire Investigation

Palm Springs Police are continuing their investigation into a fire that damaged trees and wildlife habitats at the Prescott Preserve.

Detectives are now working to determine how the fire started and whether it was caused intentionally or through reckless behavior. Officials say they are actively searching for evidence that may help explain the start of the blaze.

Police are also asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who was seen in the area approximately 20 minutes before the fire broke out. Investigators believe she may have information that could assist with the case.

According to officials, the woman is described as a white female with blonde hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, who was walking a small dog at the time. Authorities emphasized that she is not considered a suspect and is not in any trouble. They are simply hoping she can provide helpful details.

The fire caused damage to natural vegetation and sensitive wildlife habitat within the preserve, raising concerns about environmental impact and public safety.

Anyone who recognizes the description or has information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Palm Springs Police Department. Tips can help investigators determine what happened and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Police say community cooperation is critical as they continue working to protect local natural resources.
