Big Bear’s Moonridge Winter Games Village brings Olympic watch parties and mountain vibes to Southern California
If you’re looking to catch the Winter Olympics with a mountain backdrop, Big Bear Lake is delivering the full experience.
NBC Palm Springs is partnering with Big Bear to spotlight the Moonridge Winter Games Village, a multi-venue celebration running now through February 23. The Moonridge corridor has been transformed into a walkable, dog-friendly district featuring live Olympic screenings, local bars and restaurants, and plenty of alpine energy.
NBC Palm Springs reporter Brett Rosen joined the festivities live from Big Bear, where crowds gathered for opening ceremony watch parties and ongoing coverage of this year’s Winter Games. From ski slopes buzzing with activity to TVs lighting up bars throughout Moonridge, visitors are getting a unique blend of Olympic excitement and mountain town charm.
Local residents say the atmosphere feels special.
One Big Bear local shared his excitement about watching hockey in particular, saying he’s looking forward to Team USA taking on Canada, while encouraging visitors to come experience Bear Mountain and the Moonridge Room firsthand.
The Winter Games Village offers multiple viewing areas along the corridor, giving fans plenty of options to grab a drink, enjoy a meal, and cheer on their favorite athletes. Organizers say the goal is to create a community-focused celebration that blends Olympic spirit with Big Bear’s outdoor lifestyle.
NBC Palm Springs will continue highlighting the events throughout the village, bringing viewers a closer look at how Big Bear is embracing the Winter Games right here in Southern California.
