Palm Desert restaurant braces for Super Bowl rush as national spending expected to top $20 billion

Super Bowl Sunday is shaping up to be a big win for businesses across the country, with economists projecting spending to exceed $20 billion nationwide. That surge is already being felt locally.

At Stuft Pizza, staff members are preparing for what they expect to be one of their busiest days of the year. The restaurant is stocking up on supplies, scheduling extra employees, and getting ready for an influx of hungry football fans.

Manager Art Juarez says the Super Bowl is treated like their biggest game of the season.

“We build it up all year long,” Juarez said. “When you have that big game, it’s lots of fun. We’ve got the sound on, the food flowing, the drinks flowing. It’s a good time.”

Last year alone, the Palm Desert location served more than 400 pizzas and 100 orders of chicken wings. This season, the team has developed an even stronger game plan to keep up with demand.

Customers say they’re ready to spend, gathering with friends and family to enjoy the game, food, and drinks.

Their preparations mirror a nationwide trend. According to the National Retail Federation, total spending tied to the Super Bowl is expected to reach a record $20 billion this year.

From kickoff to the final whistle, Stuffed Pizza says it’s ready to deliver.

“Pizza, wings — whatever you need, we’ve got it,” Juarez said.
