Server Of The Week
Server of the Week: Mario Surprised with $1,000 Tip at Lulu California Bistro in Downtown Palm Springs
It was a feel-good moment in downtown Palm Springs as NBC Palm Springs teamed up with Anthony Caridi to surprise one hardworking Valley server with a big thank-you.
This week’s Server of the Week honor went to Mario at Lulu California Bistro, located along South Palm Canyon Drive. Mario was caught completely off guard when Anthony Caridi arrived to recognize his outstanding service — and reward him with a $1,000 tip.
Anthony Caridi joined the NBC Palm Springs team to deliver the surprise, praising Mario for his friendly attitude, efficiency, and dedication to guests.
Anthony shared that Mario was nominated for consistently providing excellent service, always greeting customers with a smile and making diners feel welcome. The reaction was priceless as Mario realized what was happening, thanking everyone repeatedly and admitting he was totally surprised.
“I didn’t even know what to say,” Mario said, clearly emotional after receiving the generous tip.
The Server of the Week segment is designed to spotlight local hospitality workers who go above and beyond every day, giving back to the people who help make the Coachella Valley dining scene so special.
Mario’s coworkers and guests cheered as he accepted the award, turning an ordinary shift into an unforgettable moment.
Congratulations again to Mario — and thank you for serving the Valley with heart.
