107-Year-Old Georgia Woman Celebrates Birthday with Firefighters, Deputies, and a Dance Floor Full of Joy

A room slowly filled with laughter and anticipation as friends, family, and first responders gathered for a milestone celebration more than a century in the making.

Marge Hatcher recently marked her 107th birthday at Canterfield at Kennesaw, surrounded by everything that brings her joy — including books, gardening, and her beloved Atlanta Braves.

Staff members say Hatcher’s upbeat spirit makes her easy to celebrate. Program director Sally Wells describes her as someone who gets along with everyone, loves deeply, and carries a timeless sense of humor.

But when you turn 107, a cake alone isn’t enough.

Hatcher had one special request for her big day: firefighters.

Members of Cobb County Fire Department showed up ready to dance, and they weren’t alone. Deputies from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office also joined in, twirling across the floor in full uniform and helping bring her birthday wish to life.

“They all make me feel young,” Hatcher joked as she watched the celebration unfold.

Her family says the party perfectly reflected who she is — warm, playful, and full of gratitude for each day.

After more than a century of living, Hatcher still has simple advice to share.

“Don’t be afraid to say something nice to somebody,” she said. “Even if you don’t like them — say something nice.”

At 107, Marge Hatcher is reminding everyone that kindness, laughter, and a little dancing can keep life sweet right down to the very last slice of cake.
