NBC Palm Springs Highlights Big Bear Lake’s Moonridge Winter Games Village During Olympics

NBC Palm Springs is your home for Winter Olympics coverage, and this season the station is partnering with Big Bear Lake to highlight its Moonridge area as an unofficial Winter Games Village.

Reporter Tim O’Brien traveled to Moonridge Road in Big Bear Lake, where local businesses are leaning into the Olympic spirit for the next several weeks.

One of the featured stops is Dank Donuts, a popular spot just minutes from the ski resort. The shop has been serving the community for seven years and was founded by a snowboarder who wanted a go-to breakfast stop for fellow riders heading up the mountain.

As part of the Moonridge Winter Games Village, Dank Donuts is offering a special red, white, and blueberry version of its most popular blueberry donut throughout the Olympics. The shop is also considering fun, Olympic-style activities for visitors, including donut-stacking challenges and playful takes on winter sports using oversized cinnamon rolls.

The bright decorations and festive atmosphere reflect the excitement surrounding the Winter Games, giving locals and visitors a place to celebrate while enjoying one of Big Bear’s favorite treats.

NBC Palm Springs will continue showcasing Big Bear Lake and Moonridge businesses throughout the Olympics, connecting viewers with local spots embracing the winter sports spirit.
