Broadway’s Best in the West Brings Jessica Vosk and Tony Yazbeck to Palm Springs Cultural Center

Broadway’s Best in the West is back for its third season at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, bringing some of Broadway’s most celebrated performers to the Coachella Valley for an intimate cabaret experience.

The series is produced by Tom Truhe, who originally launched the concept more than 17 years ago at the Annenberg Theater. After the pandemic ended that run, Truhe was invited by Palm Springs Cultural Center Executive Director Michael Green to revive the series locally. The result has been a growing success, drawing Broadway fans from across the region.

This season has already featured standout performances, including Tony Award-winning baritone Paulo Szot and Broadway star Carrie St. Louis. Now, two more major names are set to take the stage.

On February 14, Broadway favorite Jessica Vosk headlines a special Valentine’s Day performance. Vosk is preparing to originate the Bette Midler role of C.C. Bloom in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation of Beaches, making her Palm Springs appearance a rare opportunity to see her just before previews begin in New York.

Following that, Tony Yazbeck performs on March 14. Known as one of Broadway’s leading song-and-dance men, Yazbeck has starred in productions including On the Town, Gypsy alongside Patti LuPone, and the 50th anniversary revival of A Chorus Line, where he played the role of Zach.

Truhe says the goal of Broadway’s Best in the West is to connect Palm Springs audiences with top-tier Broadway talent in a relaxed cabaret setting. Many performers are actively working on Broadway and enjoy the chance to share their music in a more personal environment.

Tickets for both performances are available through the Palm Springs Cultural Center website, with organizers encouraging early purchases as shows often sell quickly.
